41. Citizenship Ceremony

I witnessed a Citizenship Ceremony in Toronto when my husband became a Canadian. I was so moved by the experience that I found myself in tears. Born in Canada, I took my citizenship for granted until I started to travel and live abroad in developing countries. I may complain about my country, but the ceremony reminded me how very fortunate I was to be Canadian.

The Institute for Canadian Citizenship makes some of the ceremonies very special. The next one is at Trinity College on January 21. I hope to be there to greet people who want to become Canadian. The ceremony is  open to the public if space is available. There’s more information on my calendar www.TorontoMulticulturalCalendar.com. The Institute for Canadian Citizenship web-site is at www.icc-icc.ca/en/.
