471. We’re Back On-Line.

Ruth writes: I thought I could take a 2 1/2 week vacation with the Toronto Multicultural Calendar completed into mid-April. But gremlins struck…..

Daughter Linda heroically kept our Twitter.com/torontomulticul up to date while we cruised the Danube. I thought everything was okay even though our ship was not always within email-receiving distance. Even in modern Budapest, we couldn’t get email easily, not even from the top deck of the ship. I expected that my blog was as I left it.

I was wrong. It wasn’t until April 9 that I finally discovered, thanks to Emmanuel, that our server had disabled www.torontomulticulturalcalendar.com on April 1. For some unknown reason, there was an overload.  It wasn’t until April 10 that technician Christina and our server Stormweb started working on it. They finally got it up and running on and off, and hopefully, it’s really working now.

The sad thing is that on April 9, the Star published my “Big Idea. You can see it at: http://www.thestar.com/bigideas/civic_engagement/2014/04/09/ruth_malloys_big_idea.html. It listed the Toronto Multicultural Calendar website. But alas, that web-site was not available. We couldn’t take advantage of the publicity.

Yes, we’re back on line now, and hopefully, no more mysterious problems will plague us. I appreciate your patience and loyalty. We did have a good time learning about the cultures of Europe and the plight of Moldova. But I hope our next vacation won’t set our blog back so much.
