Ruth writes: It’s such a joy going to Harbourfront these days. You don’t have to wait in the cold on Bay Street for a bus. You can now get off the Yonge branch of the subway at Union Station, follow the “Streetcars” sign, and you’ll find yourself right by the platform. Lighted signs inform you when the 509 and 510 streetcars will take you to Harbourfront. The route isn’t perfect yet. At Queen’s Quay, there’s still a fence keeping you from going directly there and returning to Union Station, but after a couple years of having to look for a TTC bus back to the subway, this is a whole lot better.

I was there for Kuumba last Sunday. As usual, Harbourfront laid on a great dance workshop. This one led by dance teacher Esie Mensah consisted of Afrofusion movements. To inspire the students, she included members of her Black Star dance troupe. Then there was her infectious enthusiasm and humour.  It was a great way to warm up on a double-digit sub-zero day.
