Sorry we could not tell you about this important international Ethiopian event earlier. It starts July 3 but goes on to July 9. The Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America’s annual soccer tournament and cultural festival is meeting this year in Toronto. While the main purpose is to bring together Ethiopians from all over the continent, non-Ethiopians can join this event too. Tickets for a one-day stadium pass ranges upward from $15 but you can buy passes for several days. The soccer tournament is at Allan Lamport Stadium, 1151 King Street West. Cultural events are there and at other venues.
We are very happy to welcome Ethiopians from all over North America. Toronto has an estimated 50,000 Ethiopians of its own and we will try to tell you about our own local events later.
