Hindu. Deepavali or Diwali marks the conquest of evil and ignorance. This festival is celebrated with lights in Hindu homes, stores, and temples, new clothes, feasts, and temple visits.

One of the most beautiful Hindu temples in Toronto is at Highway 427 and Finch. BAPS Swaminarayan Complex, 61 Clairville Drive, Toronto, ON M9W 5Z7. 4pm onwards. Visitors leave their shoes in cubicles inside the door, women to the left and men to the right. No need to cover your head. Guides there will tell you where to go. You can follow the guides to worship services, through several chapels, including the second floor of the exquisite white-domed building with statues of the most important Hindu gods. Fireworks. Food available for sale in adjacent tent.
