Chin International Picnic. A tradition started over 40 years ago which celebrates our different cultures with the world’s largest free picnic and music festival. Expect over 250,000 people. The Picnic opens at 12:30 noon on July 1. The Jersey Boys sing the national anthem at 2:30pm. The afternoon will include performances of Hong Kong and local Chinese and South Asian performers. Fireworks at 10:30pm. On the next two days will be contests for a Miss CHIN Bikini queen and a Mr. CHIN. International performers and sports competitions, carousel of real ponies to ride, a midway, petting zoo, Cat World, Dog Challenge, and acrobats are also offered. Zero Gravity Circus shows are July 1, 4 and 5 at 2:30, 4:30 and 6:30pm, free in the Better Living Building, where you can get a printed program. Available are world foods and an international bazaar. Outdoor activities are southwest side of Exhibition Place, west of the Better Living Building. Bus 29 from Dufferin Subway station. CHIN is a local radio station which broadcasts 32 cultures.
