The Church of St. Francis of Assisi performs the most popular and dramatic Good Friday procession. It starts from 72 Mansfield (Grace St. near College) in Little Italy. End time to be confirmed. The procession depicts the suffering of Jesus, the founder of the Christian religion, leading up to his crucifixion. Parishioners dress up as Roman soldiers, his disciples, his mother, etc. The procession includes veterans of the Italian army and church leaders. It goes from Grace Street south to Dundas Street, Montrose, College, Manning, Mansfield, Claremont Ave, Treford, Belwoods and Mansfield to Grace.
