During this festival Myanmar people prepare typical htamanair food to distribute to their neighbors. Htamanair is made of glutinous rice, sesame seeds, ground nuts, shredded coconut and ginger. There is a competition on preparing the best htamanair. It is cooked in giant concave iron pots; 3-5 young men crush the ingredients with oar-like wooden spoons for many hours. The goal of the competition is to keep the customs, to let young men work together, and produce the best ttamanair.
