This 22nd Annual Parade celebrates the longest, darkest night of the year with a lantern-lit procession open to all without charge through Toronto’s Kensington Market.
Also on hand will be local community members and performers like the Samba Squad, Maracatu Mar Aberto, Shadowland Theatre, Native Men’s Residence, Richard Underhill, and the Kensington Horns.
Parade starts at Oxford and Augusta (just south of College) and ends with theatricals and fire at Alexandra Park just behind Scadding Court (Bathurst and Dundas). Bring a drum, bang a pan, wear a costume (preferably handmade), and/or carry a lantern (also preferably handmade) for this participatory event.
