About 50,000 Sikh men, women and children participate in this annual religious event. It starts with worship and food in the CNE grounds. At about 1pm, a parade goes north on University Avenue ending up in Queen’s Park with speeches and demonstrations of fighting skills. For everybody there’s a wonderful and free feast of spicy, vegetarian food. Ontario Khalsa Darbar Gurdwara organizes the downtown celebration. Tel. Harbans Singh 416-804-1999.
