Commemorates the sacrifice of those who served Canada in its armed forces. Celebrated in schools as a day of peace. Most ceremonies start between 10:15 & 10:45am at civic centres, Fort York, Toronto Old City Hall, Kew Gardens, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Queen’s Park (front lawn), Toronto Zoo, Unionville Crosby Arena, some Canadian Legions, etc. Prospect Cemetary’s ceremony is at 8am.

During the weeks leading up to November 11, the Canadian Legion, the veteran’s €™ organization, sells “€œpoppies”€ on the street to help the families of veterans.
