I understand that Lorraine had a question regarding Georgi Danevski’s artwork and the Byzantine style. (See Blog 93. Toronto’s Lively Byzantine Art)  I do not have access to the actual question at the moment but I will do my best to answer. It has been said that Georgi has elevated the Byzantine style to a new and exquisite plateau. His figures with life-like facial expressions of joy, grief and awe, his compositions with many interactive figures engaged in the drama of the scenes, the attention to detail in the flora, fauna, draperies, robes, and his rich organic palate of colours are some of the elements of Georgi’s unique style.
