444. Nowruz Richmond Hill Iranian Fire Festival – 2015

“This free March 16 Iranian event is open to all.  It is a very good opportunity to experience some of the traditions of our many Iranian neighbours.

“This  ancient Iranian festival dates at least back to 1700 BCE of the early Zoroastrian era. It is a cultural and not a religious event.

“There will be music, dancing and a chance to jump over the fire.  The light of the fire symbolizes enlightenment and happiness. The time is 12-10:30pm. The main activity is between 6 and 7:30pm.
