The Tatar Community Berlek in Toronto cordially invites you to the national fest Sabantuy on Sunday, June 23 starting at 10:00 am.
Address: G. Ross Lord Park, Picnic Area 3, 4777 Dufferin St. (between Finch & Steeles)
Program:
10:00 – 12:00 – Registration, setting up tables, national dishes, preparing hot tea in samovar
For children: face & hand painting, crafts & arts, games, preparation for the performance
12:00 – 13:00 – Opening ceremony, parade of national costumes, greetings, concert
13:00 – 14:00 – Namaz, lunch with hot plov, national dishes, tea from samovar
14:00 – 14:30 – Children’s performance, greetings to newborns with their 1-st Sabantuy
14:30 – 15:30 – National tatar games, contests
15:30 – 16:00 – Show “Ungan Kelen” and “Sabantuy Batyr”
16:00 – 17:00 – Lottery, and closing ceremony
Please bring your family and friends (adult & children). It will be a fun for everybody.
Also be ready for contests: rope pulling, breaking of pots, racing in sacks, running with eggs, and many others.
Admission fee: $5.00 for a lottery, $1.00 for each coupon which can be used for face painting, food, games, crafts, and others (minimum 10 coupons per person).
Free coupons will be given to those who bring national dishes for bake-sale and help to organize the event.
We need volunteers for registration, decorating of the site, cooking, selling national dishes, transportation, children’s playground, etc.
